Overcoming Distractions/Temptation

I’m about to post my biggest conviction yet from the spirit. My biggest spiritual struggle as a 17 year old boy, is distraction. The devil is a SLICK, and SLY dog. He will deceive you, and destroy everything you build for yourself. He will allow you live COMFORTABLY in your own sin, and convince you that it is normal, or acceptable.
Everyday we go through the motions of life, taking it a “day at a time.” We go to school, work, pick up kids, back home, and repeat till the weekend. We run-into people in all walks-of life, who struggle with different things and have different mind-sets. This is why we stay in the Word. This is why church IS important. Iron- sharpens Iron. Fellowship is important. We have to stop allowing ourselves to be open to attacks of satan, and we have to be ready when they come!

We go through the motions and wait to REACT to life. We wait for the next crazy thing to happen in the midst of our comfortable lives. We get new jobs, or we have a financial problem. Or we have a child with mental struggles that we don’t understand. These moments are when satan likes to make us question God’s presence in our lives. This is where our vulnerability stems from the most. This is where I fall short. I become far too overwhelmed with distractions, that I’m totally oblivious to what Satan is doing.
Satan will throw you many unexpected things to knock you off track. He will tempt you, tell you lies about yourself and your surroundings, and he is always ready. That’s why we have to be the ones ready! Sin is the worst thing to come between us and God. We begin to feel ashamed and stray away. We feel a disconnect between us and God. That isn’t God. That is you! You have to remind yourself that we all fall sin and fall short of the Glory of God, and no matter the sin, his love doesn’t run out. Stay wrapped in the full armor of God.

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (‭‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬‬:‭7)

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10)
