Let’s talk about something. Let’s talk about what life can feel like when separated from God. Life can be a wonderful gift. However, it isn’t always very easy. I’m sure many of us already know that. Some days are better than others. Some years are hard. And some years fly by in the blink of an eye. As a Christian, sometimes I distance myself from God. It isn’t always on purpose, but it does happen. Ill tell you from experience. Life is SO much better with God. When we are one with him, we can feel his peace, presence, and love, and it shows.
God brings out many things within us that we alone could not bring out from within ourselves. He is an eternal healer. He evaporates anxiety. He disintegrates depression. All of the thing’s that stop us from carrying out his plan, he hold’s the power to erase it all. Even knowing this, I struggle sometimes to separate myself from what I “think” is good for me, and what the Lord is calling me to do. We have to remind ourselves that our plans and the struggles that we face on a daily basis, are far smaller than the God we serve.
So how do we stop depending on our own plans? How do we stop trying to rely on ourselves to succeed? Well the first step is to get your head in the game. You should know that trying to “succeed” is ultimately not the goal. If your goal is to become a Christian and expect blessing’s and put in zero work, you have come to the wrong place. We have to walk in our faith knowing the value of ETERNITY vs. Earthly. It isn’t about the things that we do that determine our standing with Christ. We have to establish a RELATIONSHIP not just a religion.
Once you know that you have your intentions aligned correctly, and you know that your in this for the long haul, Dive into scripture. Prayer and spending time in his word are amazing weapons against the attacks of the enemy. Eventually, when you grow your relationship with Christ, it begins to show through your thought’s, word’s, and actions. Tying back to the verse. He is within us. He flows out of us. Pray for strength, spiritual guidance, and wisdom as you continue your walk with Christ.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5 NIV
